Matt Evans

What do you do when you can't afford an Atari and you live out in the middle of nowhere? If you're Matt Evans you play bass and sing harmony in bluegrass and country bands with your siblings.

Matt spent his high school years playing in bands. He studied English literature in college but quickly realized that words without music didn't have as much meaning to him. He moved to Los Angeles and spent a year there studying music. In 1990 he and his sister, Sara, made the move from Boonville, Missouri to Nashville. They were both signed to a small publishing company and thought that they were on their way. Nothing took off at that time though so Matt moved to Texas and spent the next seven years growing up and learning about life. By the time he moved back to Nashville things had started taking off for his sister and he joined her band as the bassist and later added musical director to his title, which he still does today.

He has had four cuts to date with Sara Evans with "Somethings Never Change" reaching the Top 30 on the Billboard Singles Chart. Besides being on the road with Sara Matt is currently writing with other writers and working on getting cuts. He continues on his life long journey and passion of matching the right words with the right melodies.
