Jimmy Stewart

Jimmy Stewart hails from Natchitoches, La and his country music pedigree is long and illustrious. He comes from a family with a rich musical history. His Uncle Travis Stewart played and sang with Bill Monroe in 1971 and his second cousin is Nashville hit songwriter Jon Randall. His musical influences range from his father and uncle, to Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs, Ricky Skaggs, the Louvin Brothers, Elvis, and legendary dobro player, Jerry Douglas. At the age of 10, Jimmy learned to play guitar and when he turned 15, started a band with his cousins and uncle. At that same time he also picked up the dobro. When he turned 17, he made the move to Branson working there for four years then made the move to Nashville when he turned 21.Upon arriving in Nashville, Jimmy got a job at Opryland. There, he was doing shows with some of country music’s up and coming stars like John Rich, Chely Wright and Dean Sams. He worked at Opryland for one summer, until moving on to work with famed bluegrass band Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver. In 1996 he landed a gig touring with Brooks & Dunn which has lasted nearly 10 years. On his time away from Brooks & Dunn he’s also worked with Alan Jackson, Linda Davis, Rascal Flatts, and Keith Urban. In 2003, a fellow band member introduced Jimmy to a friend at EMI Music Publishing. In April 2004, Jimmy signed as a writer with EMI and in 2005 Tracy Gershon of Warner Brothers pushed for a record deal for Jimmy. Jimmy has been in the studio with famed producer Paul Worley recording his debut album.
